Black Bears host the Wolfpack in Softball Doubleheader

On Thursday afternoon the Westmoreland County Community College Softball team traveled to Penn Highlands for the first ever match up between the two team.  This is Penn Highlands first ever season of competition in softball.

Game one saw the Wolfpack's best offensive outputs recording a season high 12 runs on 12 hits.  Emily Bauer and Emma Mullett both recorded 3 hits each, Mullett drove in 3 runs.  Shannon Prinkey, Autumn White, and Leah Herman each recorded 2 hits a piece.  The Wolfpack put 19 players on the bases as they added 7 walks as well.  The team eventually fell 25 to 12 to Penn Highlands.

Game two saw the Black Bears defeat the Wolfpack 17-3.  The Wolfpacks bats kept racking up the hits with 9 more hits in game two.  Bauer and Mullett both added two more hits in game two, giving them 5 hits each in the two games.  Leah Herman had two hits, and Aimee Eutsey, Shannon Prinkey, and Haley Richter had one hit a piece as well.

With 21 hits, and 15 runs, was the best two game output for the team this season.  They have grown a tremendous amount from their first game to this one.  We are looking forward to having members of this team returning next season, and to continue to watch the team grow.
