Wolfpack Fall in Season Opener

Westmoreland County Community College softball team kicked off the 2023 season against Butler County Community College.  The Wolfpack fell behind early, and couldn't come back in an 18-2 loss to Butler County Community College on Tuesday. 

Sydney Matijevic toed the rubber for Westmoreland CCC Wolfpack. The righty allowed ten hits, while striking out two.

Ruby Rojas led off the game and season with a single down the right field line, and went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wolfpack in hits, and an RBI. Aimee Eutsey, Leah Herman, and Abigail Kratochvil each recorded at hit in the game. Rojas, Eutsey, and Herman each recorded a stolen base as well.

 

Game two saw the Wolfpack show improvements, and held Butler to only 9 runs in the game 2, 9-0 loss.

A single by Aimee Eutsey in the first inning was a positive spark for Westmoreland.  Eutsey and Logan Bernard each managed one hit to lead Westmoreland CCC Wolfpack.

Sydney Matijevic pitched game 2 for Westmoreland as well. The righty went four innings, allowing nine runs on five hits, and striking out one.

The Wolfpack will be back on the field on Saturday March 18th for their rescheduled home opener vs CCAC.  First pitch for he doubleheader will be at noon on the 18th.
