Murphy leads women's basketball to WPCC Title

Quick starts are what every team strives for in a championship game and boy did WCCC do just that.  WCCC jumped out to an early 19-2 lead over CCAC Allegheny and never looked back as the Wolfpack earned a 68-42 victory along with being crowned the 2014 Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Champions. The Wolfpack struck early and often as Danielle Murphy was the games high scorer with 21 point. Murphy did it at both ends of the floor with stellar defense and when she wasn't scoring she was busy assisting others with their scoring. Devon Larkin chipped in 15 points on the afternoon as Shalia Williams tossed in 14 points in helping WCCC improve to (17-9).  With the win, WCCC has now won back to back WPCC championships.  Head coach Scott Hillen was extremely happy with his team's performance, "We got off to a great start which got us into the flow of the game.  I can't say enough about our teams effort and attitude the last few weeks, they've been great. I can't say enough about how hard this team has worked and the sacrifices they've made along the way. I'm extremely proud of them and what they've accomplished to this point but we're not done yet."  Up next for Hillen and his team are the Region XX division III regional championships on Saturday in Maryland.  WCCC is seeded third and will square off against region rival Prince George's Community College.
