Hard Fought Win for Women's Basketball

Youngwood, PA - WCCC women's basketball team gritted out two wins in less than 24 hours at the WCCC Women's Basketball Tip Off Classic this weekend.  The Wolfpack defeated Lehigh Carbon CC 59-54 Friday night, then went on Saturday to a  59-53 win over Anne Arundel CC.  It was the duo of Chelsea Szakal and Brooke Kalp who paved the way Friday evening posting 17 points and 16 points a piece to help secure the win over the Cougars. On Saturday, Szakal pounded home a career high 21 points while Hannah Porter netted a season high 16 points on the afternoon.  It was Porter's 3 pointer that pulled the Wolfpack ahead for good late in the game. Foster assisted with 12 points which saw WCCC  improve to 3-1.  Szakal and Foster were named to the All-Tournament Team for their outstanding play. WCCC will travel to University of Pittsburgh Titusville on Monday for a 5:00 p.m. start.
