Cold Start Dooms Women's Basketball

Youngwood, PA - Playing one of the top Region III Division II teams is a tall task but getting off to a slow start doesn't help matters at all.  A poor shooting performance in the first half put the women's basketball team in a hole which they battled back and cut Jamestown's lead to nine with three minutes left but never got any closer as they  dropped to a 70-59 setback. Westmoreland only managed 24 first half points as they dropped to (11-4, 1-0) on the season. Hannah Hempfield continues to shine as she added a team high 14 points while Kylee Surike sprinkled home 13 points.
