WOLFPACK WOMEN WINS DOUBLES TITLE AT WPCC CHAMPIONSHIPS

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College women's bowling team earned a lot of hardware at Friday's 2019 WPCC Championships, held at the Wolfpack's home lanes at Main Bowling Center.

Highlighting the day for the Wolfpack was the doubles championship won by Julia Jumper and Haley Wedow. The top two scores rolled during doubles play were posted by Wedow, who went 155 and 148 in the opening two games on her way to 445 for the series. Combined with Jumper's 386, the Westmoreland duo scored 831 to outdistance the second place team by 83 pins to bring home the doubles crown.

Both bowlers would also earn individual awards as well. In singles play in the morning, Jumper's steady progression of 146-150-153 pushed her to a score of 449 to earn Singles Runner-Up accolades. In the All Events scoring, which totaled everyone's scores from singles, doubles and team play, Wedow would earn Runner-Up status with a combined score of 1,385 for an average of 153.9 over the three competitions.

With their outstanding efforts, the Wolfpack earned second place behind team champion Penn Highlands.

Westmoreland will be back in action next Friday when they compete at the Region XX Championships, which will be hosted by CCAC-South at Coral Lanes.
