WOLFPACK FINISH SEASON AT NJCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - The Westmoreland County Community College women's bowling team finished its 2019 season over the weekend at the NJCAA Championships, hosted by Erie Community College at Airport Lanes near Buffalo.

The opening event was doubles on Friday morning and Julia Jumper and Haley Wedow placed 38th overall with a team score of 713. Jumper had the top scores in the round for the Wolfpack, as she rolled 391, highlighted by an opening game total of 153.

Both bowlers would improve their scores in singles play next, as Jumper raised her total by 25 pins to score 416. Her top game was once again the opener, as she scored 155 to begin the round. Wedow boosted her score by nearly 40 pins from doubles, as her 137 in the opening game led her to a 360 for the singles event.

When team play began in the afternoon, the best outing came from Jumper, as she rolled a season-high for a series with a score of 462 to complete her round. That score helped her total 1626 for the day and finish 58th in the All Events standings. Wedow finished with a total of 1343 and placed 73rd overall.
