Wolfpack Women Remain on Top After Week 2

YOUNGWOOD, Pa – Sliding into week two of the Westmoreland County Community College virtual bowling season, the Wolfpack showed out yet again.

The sole Pack member on the men's side, sophomore Austin Douglas, came out into week two with another strong showing. Douglas started the day with his high game of 154. He finished the series with throwing a 135 in game two and clutched up in game three with a 151. After week two, Douglas threw a 440 series while averaging a 146.7.

 

Douglas now has 889 total pins this season with a season average of 148.2. He finds himself this week in the 6 spot among the 7 bowlers in the conference. Joseph Mackowiak of CCAC was on top of the leaderboard for the second straight week with a 655 series.

For the women, first year bowler Ashleigh Walker and sophomore Jaquie Thompson again both showed up to compete in week two. Walker found herself back on top of the leaderboard with a 523 series. Walker began her day with an impressive 186 game but dropped off with a 147 second game. Ashleigh finished strong with a day-high 190 game to place her on top of the women's side. Her season average is now 199.0 with a total of 1194 total pins on the season.

Thompson held onto her fifth place standing by throwing a 108/126/100 in that order. Thompson finished at a 334 series in 6th place for the conference. She was out-scored by 1 pin by Penn Highland CC's Trinity Krause who had a 335 series. After week two, Thompson has a total of 730 pins on the season with a 121.7 average.

 

The women's solid week, led by Ashleigh Walker, earned them another 2 conference points for a WPCC-leading total of 4, while Anna Swindle earned another point, giving CCAC 2 conference points on the season.
