Wolfpack Women Win

YOUNGWOOD, Pa – This week the Westmoreland Wolfpack hosted the Westmoreland Invitational with both CCAC and Penn Highlands attending.

To start off the day, the Wolfpack women competed in the doubles event going head to head with duos from Penn Highlands and a pair from CCAC. In the first set of games, sophomore Jaquie Thompson and first year bowler Ashleigh Walker threw a 119 and a 178, respectively. For the second and third games they both improved and tossed a 122 and 117 for Thompson and a 182 and 163 for Walker. The women finished the doubles competition with a total of 881 giving them second place behind the CCAC duo of Kali Adams and Anna Swindle who totaled 1031 for the event.

Moving onto singles, Walker tossed 182, 133, and 184 for a series of 499 awarding her the crown for the women's singles event. Thompson threw a 91, a career high 174, and a 131 to tie her high series of 396. Jaquie placed fifth in the singles event just behind Penn Highlands' Jenna Dagostino.

On the men's side of the ball, sophomore Austin Douglas tossed a 160, 145, and 169 to give him the fifth spot in men's singles with a 474 series. Overall, for the day, Douglas finished in fifth place as well. His total series was 925 through six games where he averaged 154.2 on the day.

Walker threw a combined 1022 through six games and Thompson combined for 754 on the day. Walker walked away with the top spot for All Events ahead of CCAC's Anna Swindle, who totaled a 1002. Thompson finished fifth in the All Events standings.

The Wolfpack is back in action next Friday March 26th as they travel to CCAC's Coral Lanes for the WPCC Championships.
