Bio

 Jeff Black enters his sixth season as the head men’s and women’s golf coach here at Westmoreland. Since his time as the head golf coach, Jeff had one golfer make all–American and seven golfers make the all-conference team. This past season, Jeff won the 2023 WPCC Conference coach of the year award. Jeff is not only an excellent golf coach, but he also spent four seasons as the assistant men’s basketball coach here at Westmoreland from 2019-2022.  Helping the team win the regular season conference title in 2022.

 Jeff grew up in Westmoreland county and graduated from Greensburg Salem High school. While at Greensburg Salem, he participated in cross country and track. After high school he attended Slippery Rock University and earned a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. While at Slippery Rock, Jeff competed in both cross country and track. He then attended graduated school at Marshall University and earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health.

 Coaching here at Westmoreland is special to Jeff since he grew up in the area. “I enjoy coaching in the nearby community where I grew up. I really enjoy the practices with my team, the anticipation of game day, and the strive to win. The best part of teaching and coaching young men and women, for me, is seeing their improvement not only in the sport, but in their lives as well.”
