Rubino Makes All Region 20 Team

This past Saturday the women's cross country team competed in the NJCAA Region 20 championships held here at Westmoreland.  Even though the the course had been hit with rain 5 out of the 6 days leading up to the meet, the times were still very fast.  

Anna Rubino, St. Stephens NC, was the Wolfpacks top finisher, 3rd place in the region, with a time of 22:50.  This was Rubino's fastest time in her two seasons as a member of the Wolfpack.  "Anna is starting to peak at the right time, leading into the National CHampionships next week," Coach Comer said.  "I am expecting a really nice race out of her at nationals." With her third place finish Rubino made the all Region 20 team.

Molleigh Henderson, Ligonier Valley, finished 6th in the region, with a solid time time of 26:57, and she was followed by Hannah Klingensmith, Norwin, finishing 8th in a time of 28:32.  

The team was not just competing for a Region 20 Championship, they were also running for individual WPCC Conference honors as well.  Rubino was the top finisher in the conference followed by her teammate, Henderson in second place.

Rubino and Henderson will be both traveling to the NJCAA National Championship hosted by Georgia Military College on November 13th 2021.
