Westmoreland Battles Central Carolina Community College

The Westmoreland women's basketball team battled Central Carolina Community College at home on Saturday. In the first quarter, the teams continued to trade baskets and go back and fourth to end tied after one. The second quarter was the lowest scoring quarter as both teams tightened up defensively but the lady wolfpack trailed by 7 points at halftime. Central Carolina took a larger lead after the third quarter as they went up 44-30. The lady wolfpack came storming back in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to only 4 points. Shortly after, the lady wolfpack who started the game with only 5 players had one player foul out and had to play the remaining 5:39 with just 4 players. The lady wolfpack continued to play hard and compete despite being down a player. The final score ended up Central Carolina Community College 65 and Westmoreland 47. This was the lady wolfpack's last game before the holiday break. Their next game will be against Penn State Dubois at home on Tuesday January 10 at 5pm.
